MindBrainAI Nexus (Nexus) supports development of a healthy mind, especially for young people, through its support of International Brain Bee and Forecasting the Future Tournaments (FTF) by offering extra awards and conducting online and in-person mentoring sessions at different locations. 

Forecasting the Future is hosted by the Alliance for Decision Education, a national nonprofit and field builder with the mission of improving lives by empowering students with the skills and dispositions to make better decisions. PARENTS – your students can join Forecasting the Future, a fun, interactive online tournament in which middle and high school students across the country compete by making predictions (forecasts) on real-world questions about music, sports, movies, and more! 

We are excited to offer additional outside mentoring support and prizes to ensure students can learn and perform their best!

In addition to the Alliance’s grand prize of $2,500, along with other prize opportunities, The Nexus is giving an outside additional up to $1000 worth of awards to Bay Area students based on participation and scores.

Forecasting the Future Tournament Format: Online, solve one problem each week from FTF
Mentored Program: once a week over 6 weeks of competition to guide students and help them understand concepts, schedule of online and in-person sessions will be announced later.

Organizers and Mentors:
Dr. Ashvin Radiya (IIT Bombay) has always been curious about our brains! With the advent of AI, neuroscience is an important field. It is his passion to make our youth become aware of how our brains work and make decisions. He leads multiple organizations – MindBrainAI Nexus, BayBrainsSFN.org and BayAreaBrainBee.org. The Nexus supports Brain Bee and Forecasting the Future for high school and middle school students – good for college applications, better decision making and curiosity!

Sachin Naik (IIT Bombay) is a multifaceted educator, mentor, and technology expert. As a coach for FTF 2025, Sachin aims to inspire students through project-based learning. His approach integrates critical thinking, decision-making, and technical skills development via hands-on experimentation. Leveraging his expertise in robotics, AI, and medical imaging interpretation, he will help students navigate future challenges with innovative solutions.  

Shirish Puranik (IIT Bombay, Stanford) is a cybersecurity expert and advisor to many startups. He has worked at Oracle, VISA, Wells Fargo and 2 startups. He looks forward to sharing many lessons through hands-on experience—the kind you only learn by doing. He enjoys mentoring and sharing those lessons to help others grow, avoid common mistakes, and build things that matter.
